REQUIRED EQUIPMENT

We do our best to keep your equipment costs down. We require that your dog's equipment be safe and in functioning order. The following items will be necessary for class:

Required:

Collar or Harness - must fit properly and be in good working condition. Collars may be Martingales or flat.  No choke chains or pinch collars please. Training harnesses are okay, but not necessary.  We will train your dog not to pull on the lead without any special equipment.

Lead- Six-foot cotton or nylon lead large enough to manage your dog. Please be aware that leads any longer than six feet may be difficult to control. We discourage their use in our classes. No retractable leads please.

Training treats - Please use pea-sized treats, even for larger dogs. We need your dog to be hungry and not fill up too quickly.

Recommended:

Treat bag - We recommend a fanny pack, tool pouch, or Quick-Access Treat Bag that can be positioned behind you out of the sight of your dog. We discourage the use of your pockets, as it may result in damaged clothing, and deep pockets are sometimes troublesome in treat delivery.

Long Lines & Light Lines - to help us teach recall it is best to have a 15 to 50 foot line.  Trainer will have these for your sessions, but for practicing at home you will need to provide your own or be prepared to purchase one.

Some equipment can be purchased from your trainer, but supplies are limited.
