ALL ABOUT THIS CLASS

Our personalized obedience training can turn the dog you have into the dog you hoped for.

We offer customized plans and exceptional coaching to transform your dog’s behavior. Our approach is rooted in empathy and understanding, ensuring that both you and your dog feel supported throughout the process.

All of our plans are tailored to meet your needs and your lifestyle. Whether you want a dog that stays at home or a dog that goes with you everywhere, we can customize a plan just for you.

You may choose to hold your sessions at our training center in Rudy or in your home.

Prerequisite

There are no prerequesites for this training program, but it is perfect for those who have just graduated from our Practically Perfect Puppy and our Tail Waggin’ Teens programs who are not quite ready for working on an advanced level.

WHO THIS CLASS IS FOR

If you want one-on-one help in teaching your dog to be well behaved and polite, this program is for you.

This program is for anyone who has a dog has frustrating or irritating behaviors, doesn’t listen, pulls on the leash, and acts crazy around the house.

This program is also for anyone who wants to learn about and create a stronger bond with their dog while teaching him or her a number of useful behaviors.

This program is the starting point for anyone who wants to pursue advanced obedience or the Canine Good Citizen.

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN

We offer customized coaching plans, so your dog can get started on just about anything you like, but we suggest the following:

Sit
Polite Greetings
Down
Come When Called
Loose leash walking
Settle on a mat
Drop (the thing in your mouth)
Stay

The six sessions are geared towards teaching you how to use each of these cues to make life with your dog more enjoyable. This will give you a solid foundation to work with in your daily life.

WHAT'S INCLUDED

Six 50 minute sessions where your trainer will coach you in person on how to work with your dog.
An online homework portal where you will find written instructions for everything we have covered in class.
You are encouraged to record videos of your training sessions which you can upload to us in your student portal. We will commend on these in your portal, or discuss them during our mid-week review.
During your mid-week review, you can ask any questions or express any concerns you have about your progress with your dog.

WHEN CAN YOU START

You can schedule your first session today, and generally we will be able to work you in within a few weeks. Currently, all Bark to Basics private lessons are done between 6:30 and 8:30 PM, Monday through Friday.

The following are required before your first session.

You must fill out the enrollment form.
We will hold a discovery interview over the phone or online.
A signed contract, including payment arrangements, is required 24 hours prior to the first lesson.
Payment must be made on or before the first session.
